John Nodar is a meteorologist at WKRG, appearing weekdays on News 5 This Morning. 

John has worked in broadcasting for the past 45 years. 39 of those years have been with WKRG-TV. In addition to his morning forecast duties, you can find him Thursdays at noon on News 5’s “Cooking with John.”

Prior to WKRG, John worked in Norfolk, Virginia; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and along the way even spent a year in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico at a Spanish-Country-Gospel-News radio station. 

John received meteorology training from the U.S. Air Force and a Master’s Degree in Applied Meteorology from Mississippi State University. He earned the Seal of Approval and Certified Broadcast Meteorologist designation from the American Meteorological Society (AMS) and the Seal of Approval from the National Weather Association (NWA). He’s been honored with numerous broadcast and civic awards including “Best Weather Anchor in Alabama” by the Associated Press.

Who better to play the role of Alma Bryant than long time Mobile educator, Linda Grill?

Born & raised in Mobile, Linda was a teacher and administrator for 30+years while being active in musical theater, opera and choral groups.  Students and colleagues will remember her as Ms. Linda Evans. 

After 10 years as online college professors, Linda and her husband, Jeff Grill are retired and living the good life in the Oakleigh Garden district.

Mike Bunn serves as Director of Historic Blakeley State Park in Spanish Fort, AL. Previously, he directed the Historic Chattahoochee Commission in southeastern Alabama and southwestern Georgia, and worked as a curator with the Columbus (Georgia) Museum and the Mississippi Department of Archives and History’s Museum of Mississippi. 

Bunn is author or co-author of several books on Gulf South history and is the winner of the NSDAR Excellence in American History Award. He was recently announced as the recipient J.Y. Sanders Research Scholar Award by The Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies as Southeastern Louisiana University.

Mike chair's the Baldwin County Historic Development Commission, VP of the Mobile Area Civil War Roundtable, treasurer of the Friends of Old Mobile, and board member for the Alabama Historical Association.

A graduate of Murphy High School, Robin attended St. Edwards University in Austin, TX as a theater major. After her sophomore year, she went to New York, studying in the  Circle in the Square Theater School spending six years on stage. 

She left for Hollywood and worked in both film and television, and after some time, decided her life would go in a different direction. Robin always thought in the end, she would be an attorney. She returned to St. Edwards and picked up her education where she left off, completing her undergraduate degree in history. It's here that she stumbled across the story of the bread riot in Mobile during a Civil War class. 

Being a Mobilian, she was shocked that she never heard of this bit of history before. She became obsessed with the subject, traveling the country for research  before submitting her findings in a research paper.
